About Us
Shannon Pedlar has worked with horses in many capacities throughout her life. As
a facility manager, trainer, student, groom, competitor, and show secretary, she has
learned to appreciate horses of many different breeds and temperaments. During
her employ at the Morven Park Equestrian Center from 2002-2008, Shannon has
served as secretary for numerous five-ring recognized dressage shows, recognized
sport horse breed shows, recognized horse trials through the CCI level, and
hunter/jumper shows, as well as coordinating clinics with such luminaries as
George Morris and Charles DeKunffy. Shannon has also supported the Northern
Virginia Dressage Association’s Northern Virginia Chapter (VADA/NOVA)
recognized dressage and breed shows as a secretary, manager, stable manager
and competitor. Shannon was also the recipient of a USDF Silver Medal Rider
Achievement award in 2007. Through her efforts with Equestrian Event
Management, Inc., Shannon hopes to offer other horse enthusiasts opportunities to
learn and have fun with their equine partners.
Patricia Patton (Paddy) was one of the lucky little girls who did have a horse. Like
many adult amateurs, she came back to this early love after establishing a career
and realizing that life would be better all around if it once again included horses.
Paddy was exposed to dressage as a function of dabbling in eventing, and she has
kept that as her primary riding focus. First as a member of the VADA/NOVA board of
directors, and now through EEMI, Paddy has been drawn to the organizational
aspects of equestrian events. She organized an “L” dressage judge training program
in 2004, and assisted with organization of a small “r” program that same year. She
has managed recognized dressage and breed shows, schooling shows, clinics,
and hunter/jumper shows, and has competed in hunter/jumper, dressage, and
eventing.
